In-app quick help (WatDis Studio)
Goal: give users inside WatDis a concise reminder of flow and controls.
Quick steps
- Open network: Files → Load JSON / Import EPANET
.inp. - Review: zoom/pan on canvas; floating table to list nodes/pipes.
- Set calculation: Analysis → Run Calc (GGA). Use Compare (EPANET) to validate.
- Run: watch status banner and time.
- Color map: View → Pressure (nodes) or Velocity/Loss (pipes); enable Flow direction if needed.
- Analyze: sort by pressure/velocity in the table; save if OK.
Key controls
- Select/Edit/Move on the top ribbon.
- Right inspector: node/pipe properties (demand, elevation, diameter, valves, pumps).
- Undo/Redo in Tools.
- Zoom to extent in View if you lose the network.
- EPS Profile panel to inspect time series when running EPS.
- Thiessen demand in Multi‑Selection (Nodes) to distribute demand by area.
- In Draw Pipe, add vertices with clicks; Backspace/Delete removes the last one.
Good practices
- Every pipe with diameter/length; every consuming node with demand.
- Low pressure → check sources and diameters; negative pressure → add energy/pump.
- Very high velocity → high losses; very low → oversizing.
- Use Compare (EPANET) to confirm critical results.
Export
- Files → Save JSON.
- Analysis/CSV if available.
- Multi-selection CSV (respects filters/sorting).
- When sharing, include CSV plus a pressure map screenshot.
