09 · Scenarios and examples

Example 1: Check minimum pressures

  1. Import the network (Files → Load JSON or Import EPANET).
  2. Analysis → “Run Calc.”
  3. View → Pressure on nodes. Find red nodes (low pressure).
  4. Node table → sort by ascending pressure. Note the critical ones.

Example 2: Fix a critical diameter

  1. After spotting a high-loss pipe, select it.
  2. Increase diameter in the inspector.
  3. Recalc with “Run Calc N-R” to compare.
  4. Check if downstream nodes turn green on the map.

Example 3: Test a pump impact

  1. Insert a pump on the main line.
  2. Set an initial gain (or simple curve).
  3. Run with GGA and review critical pressures.
  4. Tune gain until reaching the target range without exceeding velocities.

Scenario best practices

  • Change one parameter at a time, then recalc.
  • Save project versions after major edits.
  • Validate with EPANET when changes are big (new pump or major diameter).
