04 · Workflow
Recommended steps
- Create or load a project: Files → “Load JSON” or “Import EPANET .inp”; or start blank.
- Review the network: use zoom/pan and the floating table to list nodes/pipes and spot missing data.
- (Optional) Georeferenced background: in Settings add an image or MapTiler basemap and calibrate scale if needed.
- Configure simulation: in Analysis, choose method (GGA/N-R/EPANET) and, if needed, adjust tolerances or preset.
- Run the calculation: click the chosen button; check the status banner and timing.
- View the color map: in View, pick the metric (Pressure for nodes, Velocity/Headloss for pipes) and enable “Flow direction” if needed.
- Review results: open the floating table, sort by pressure or velocity, and take notes.
- EPS: in EPS mode, open the EPS Profile panel to inspect time series.
Good practices
- Before calculating, ensure every pipe has diameter/length and demand is set on consuming nodes.
- If convergence fails, try EPANET (Compare) to validate and review units.
- Tweak label modes and offsets to keep the canvas readable.
Mini case: first run
- Import an example
.inp. - Analysis → “Run Calc” (GGA).
- View → Pressure on nodes; look for red zones (low pressure).
- Node table → sort ascending pressure to find critical points.
